SENATE and House of Representatives Joint Committee investigating the invation of the Senate and stealing of the Mace, has summoned former Senate Leader, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, APC, Borno South, and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, APC, Delta Central to appear before it today.
The invitation of both Ndume and Omo-Agege by the committee is for them to explain their alleged roles in the attack of the Senate hallowed chamber on April 18, 2018 and subsequent stealing of the Mace, the symbol of authority.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who said he would appear, stressed, however, that he has dragged the committee to court, restraining it from summoning him against the backdrop that he had no confidence in the chairman of the Committee, Senator Bala Ibn Na’ allah.
Senator Omo-Agege, through his counsel, Alex Iziyon, SAN who is leading other lawyers, besides dragging the committee, also has the Senate, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; the Clerk of the National Assembly; the Attorney General of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, IGP and the Department of State Services, DSS as defendants.
