Missing girls: Angry Dapchi residents destroy Governor Gaidem’s cars with stones

Emotions went high yesterday when Yobe state governor, Ibrahim Gaidem disclosed to parents and community members in Dapchi, that none of their daughters that went missing following Monday’s attack by Boko Haram members, have been found.
The residents accused the government of deceiving them. Recall that on weekday, the state governor’s press director had released a press release speech that a number of the girls are found by the military.
However when Governor Gaidam visited the community, he told them that none of their daughters has been found. This got the community members angry and they began to throw stones at the governor’s officials and their cars. The governor was instantly whisked far away from the scene whereas teargas was used to disperse the angry residents.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has been coordinating with the security agencies to ascertain the actual number of missing girls and Yobe state government has issued an apology to the state for giving out wrong information before now.
