Longest traffic jam in the world as China causes cars to spend the entire night and the next morning in traffic

You think traffic in Lagos is bad? Wait till you read of the one that happened in China on February 21.
Due to extremely heavy fog causing low visibility on Wednesday night, ferry services on the Qiongzhou Strait were canceled. This meant that the thousands of cars, coaches, buses and Lorries that needed to use the service were stuck. And the number of people waiting in or outside of the three Haikou ports just built up until there was heavy traffic.

Speaking to Xinhuanet, Gu Gang, executive vice mayor of Haikou, said: “We are working with the city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong to ensure the shipping route operates normally.
The Haikou city government also issued a notice asking workers who use the route to “take the day off” to help reduce traffic.
